The Golf Stance

The next important thing to get right after the golf grip is your golf stance.  The picture below depicts the golf stance as taught for many, many years, and not every golf teacher advocates or teaches it that way.  However, being a scratch golfer, myself, I do use them, except for the putting stance, which I vary from time to time, depending on how I am putting, but normally I use the stance depicted for the iron or chip shots, which is and open stance, meaning the left foot is slightly moved out to the left and back from square.  The putting stance on the far right below is a square stance.

I believe the putting stance should be whatever feels good and allows for you to make a smooth stroke towards the target or hole!!
