Message to Left Behind novel readers

Tim LaHaye's famous "Left Behind" series really is a novel and doesn't have much truth about the end times nor the rapture contained within them. Those books have done more to confuse Christians about the rapture and other tribulation topics such as the Mark of the Beast than any others and will do great damage to their faith during the worst time in human history.

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables;" II Timothy 4:2-4

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction." II Peter 3:16

Learn who is really left behind and begin to prepare you and your family for what is really happening and how to "escape these things coming upon the earth".

A Thief In the Night

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

"Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." II Peter 3:10&14

A thief in the night is always connected to the Day of the Lord or Christ in scriptures, and the Day of the Lord is the last day as well, and comes at Armageddon, which is the last day of the age and when the Lord returns.

Remembering this simple fact alone places the rapture at the Day of Armageddon at the Day of the Lord.

"For they are the spirits of devils working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, IT IS DONE." Revelation 16:15-17

As you can see in the verses above, the timing of the thief in the night is at Armageddon which is during the 7th and last Vial poured out, and it is done.

If we would quit reading between the lines to build our pre-conceived doctrines on the matter as taught by either deceivers or those who are themselves deceived on the pulpits across the land, we could then allow the Spirit of Truth to teach us the truth. Otherwise the truth will evade us!

Change of Mind

This article is not meant to deal with the exegesis of the rapture, as that would take a whole book and then some, but I wish only to deal with the negative effects of the false doctrine of pre tribulation teaching and the damage and harm it will cause many Christians, when the rapture does not happen before the Antichrist takes power as most all pre tribulation teachers teach.

I know very well the teaching about the pre tribulation rapture, as I was taught it growing up in a Southern Baptist Church, and later in Bible College, and then taught it myself when I was a pastor. But when I shortly thereafter began to study the Bible for myself to learn the whole truth about the end times, for truth's sake, I immediately changed my mind as it became clear that I was teaching a false doctrine concerning the rapture and many other things in the Bible concerning the Tribulation and I am still studying for more truth as I have been now for over 25 years.

I am not a pastor, nor a member of any church. I have no doctrines to defend except the faith of Yah and faith in his Son for the forgiveness of sins. But what I do know is how difficult it is for a pastor or teacher to tell his congregation that he has been wrong about what he has been teaching for many years to his congregation.

He knows that to a large degree he would lose his credibility and many in his church. They would invariably wonder what else he has been teaching that is not biblical!

Whose Left Behind?

"Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."

The field is the world, the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity." Matthew 13:30,38-41

The scriptures about the thief in the night deals not with the rapture, but with who is taken from the earth when Yahshua/Jesus returns after the rapture which in fact takes place the Day of Armageddon/Day of the Lord. The wicked (non-believers in the saving grace of Yah who came in the flesh and died on the cross, to give everlasting life to those who believe, by paying the price for their sins, and their not being sent to hell) are clearly removed from the earth, and those left behind in the rapture, who did not take the mark of the beast and who were not believers else they would have been raptured, are left behind in the earth to repopulate the earth in their physical bodies, as they became believers immediately after the rapture on the day of Armageddon., awaiting for the Lord's return later in the same day, but they know not not what hour (morning, noon, or night) he would return as a thief in the night.

The harvesting begins during the tribulation, as un-believers are gathered together to be burned (the seven trumpets and vials; during the great tribulation), while the remnant of the true church of Yahshua is taken to a place of refuge under the protection of Yah.

Matthew 13 makes it completely clear that both believers and non-believers are in the world, until the final harvest at the end, after Armageddon. (See Chart) In chapter 16 of Revelation at the end of the 7th Vial, the world is being gathered
